The conjecture is that there are infinitely many [[Mersenne prime]]s, i.e., primes of the form &amp;lt;math&amp;gt;M_p = 2^p - 1&amp;lt;/math&amp;gt;, where &amp;lt;math&amp;gt;p&amp;lt;/math&amp;gt; is a natural number. (Note that if &amp;lt;math&amp;gt;2^p - 1&amp;lt;/math&amp;gt; is prime, so is &amp;lt;math&amp;gt;p&amp;lt;/math&amp;gt;).&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
